In which I rant about how Microsoft views developers

Disclaimer: Microsoft is a large and heterogeneous company and these comments will not necessarily apply to all of the organisation. I’ve just read a blog post by a Microsoft Software Engineer that represents what I believe is the fundamental problem with how Microsoft views the developers who use their tools and APIs. Daylight Savings

There's a referendum on Daylight Savings coming up in Western Australia. So far I'm entirely unconvinced by both sides of the debate. It doesn't really affect me either way so I'd like to make a choice based on what can be demonstrated to be the best overall outcome. Unfortunately neither side makes a compelling case. And at this point I'd settle for a slightly compelling case. I am therefore probably going to vote against whichever side has the dumbest argument in support of their position. Disappointment with the ABC

The ABC news site currently has a video "Australian Miss Universe contestants give their verdict on the Budget". This is the kind of moronic "celebrity as a substitute for expertise" nonsense I'd expect from Today Tonight when they're running low on dodgy builders and unlikely diets. It's not what I expect from the public broadcaster.
